From March 5th-7th me and my team spent the weekend with a group of 70 teens from Nantes, France who were the ages of 12-19. This group was a mix of Mature Christians, very new "baby" Christians, and non-Christians.
The theme of the weekend was "The Wall". During this time, there were three services a day about the walls we put up against God and others, how to break those walls down, as well as the opposite view, of the wall of protection that God has around us and how He can rebuild the parts that have been damaged.
Also, everyday they all got into groups and did a Bible study together. There was a lot of worship and prayer time several times a day as well.
This was such a good weekend for me to spend a lot of time with the youth from many different areas of Nantes, and bond with them by playing games with them, eating with them, and I even had a few opportunities to pray for girls who opened up to me about things in their lives they were dealing with. For all the meals this weekend I was in the kitchen helping to make those and helping with clean up after.
Me and my team did a lot of different jobs during the weekend to help make the weekend happen and go smoothly.
French was spoken all weekend, of course, and by the time we went back home, my head was about to explode with all the French my brain had learned. The youth are very willing to teach us French whenever possible. =)
I would definitely call this weekend a success and a blessed weekend. This Saturday night we were invited to go to a church we have not visited yet to join in with them for a worship night. I am very excited about this and seeing some of the young people we meet again.
